Grilling Burgers on Gas Grill

Most people believe that charcoal grills are best to grill a burger, but it is a fact that gas grills work equally well. Some of the most important things you need to keep in mind while grilling a burger on gas grill is that the meat you use should be of top quality, the gas grill should be fully heated before you place the burger over it and it should be perfectly clean. Some experts, including Bobby Flay, a celebrity chef, recommends to use ground beef which is 80-90% lean.

Ingredients Required

Most importantly, you will need lean ground beef or lean ground turkey, as per your choice. Apart from that, you will require salt and pepper as per your taste, along with canola oil to prevent sticking to the grill. Hamburger buns will be used to sandwich the burgers and you will need optional toppings like onions, cheese, mustard, pickles or ketchup while serving the burgers.

Step by Step Procedure

First of all, turn the grass grill on to high and allow it to pre-heat. Take a bowl, place ground beef into it and season it with pepper and salt, according to the taste.

Avoid over-mixing. Make equal-sized patties with the ground beef, which should be around ¾ inches thick.

Apply some canola oil on the burgers so that they do not stick to the gas grill. Place the patties on the grill and allow them to heat for around 3 minutes, until they become golden brown in color and start charring slightly.

If you are using a turkey burger, you may need to heat them for around 5 minutes.

Once this is done, flip over the burgers and allow them to char or brown on the other sides too. If you want to make cheeseburgers, you can add cheese in the last minute, and close the grills so that cheese can melt quickly.

Place the burgers on the hamburger buns and serve with your favorite topping options.

Grilling Tips For Gas grilled Hamburgers

While making patties out of the ground beef, experts recommend to make depression in the patty’s center with the help of your thumb. Burger bulging in the center is a common problem that most people face while grilling burgers. By making this depression, this problem will be solved and you do not need to worry about the appearance, as this depression will disappear as the meat will expand on the grill. While you are browning the burgers, you should not flatten them with a spatula, as it will lead to loss of juice. In addition to that, you can place cast iron skillets on the grills to sauté the sliced onions right next to the hamburger, so that the onion topping can be made quickly.

Grilling burgers is an easy way to enjoy your gas grill and with the help of right equipments, you will be able to enjoy your juicy burgers done perfectly every time. With these quick and easy steps, you will be able to grill your burgers on gas grill within no time.
